Dear Dr. Lisa Smycz,
According to your description, please refer to the following reasons for this.:
- The first type of bounce is the soft bounce, which means that your email was bounced temporarily. The common reasons about that include below:
- A full inbox of recipient. If this is the case, please contact your recipient to check his inbox and clean it up.
- OOF(out of office) caused it. If a recipient who needs to use an automatic reply, your message sometimes looks like that it's bounced, but it was sent successfully, and often in this case, when you send the first message, you'll receive an auto reply and won't receive it again. If this is the case, you can only wait or contact him with other ways.
- The email message is too large. Maybe when you send a message that is too large, there may also be a rebound, please try to split the contents of an oversized message and send it again to check the result.
- The other type of bounce is the hard bounce.
- Please try to check whether the email address you sent to is right spelling completely. If so, please confirm that whether it’s an invalid email address or non-existent email address.
- If the receiving server notices something suspicious on your side, this can potentially trigger spam filters which will cause your message to be blocked or end up in the spam folder.
Please pay attention to this: If none of the above solves your problem, I would like to collect some information for further research:
You can share your NDR(non-delivery report) with me in this link safely. (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessage/inbox)
And please share error message one of them with me. (Both screenshots and text descriptions are fine.)
Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions about this. I’ll be happy to help.
Best regards,
Kerry
