How Does Office 365 Update?

With MS Office 365, I understand that the software components will install on my local computers. The question is, when the software components (Word, Excel, etc) are updated, or a new version, however they look at it, will I have to do an uninstall/install process, or will the components just be updated in place? I have an extremely slow satellite internet service (literally all I can get right now) and downloading files is such a chore.

Thank you.

    Hi, Danny.

You don't need to uninstall any Office application to update it. The update process is done with all the applications installed on your computer and it is a relatively easy process, where the software is updated with latest features and fixed any problems. Every month Microsoft offers updates to its Office 365 suite. Microsoft by default maintains its programs with the auto-update function turned on. However, if the user wants, it is possible to turn off this feature. If you have turned off automatic updates, we recommend that you leave the function turned on so that you always have the latest version of Office.
