Hi Carolyn Rainaud:
Based on your description, we understand that you met the error message that Couldn't authenticate credentials.
In our test here, we did not encounter the same problem. The following are my test steps:
- Navigate to your SharePoint location using a browser. Right-click the file you want to use, and select Open in Excel.
- In Excel, select File > Info, and then select the Copy path button.
- To use the link you just copied in Power Query, take the following steps: Select Get Data > Web.
- In the From Web dialog box, select the Basic option and paste the link in URL.
- Remove the ?web=1 string at the end of the link so that Power Query can properly navigate to your file, and then select OK.
You can try my steps to see if this problem still occurs.
If the problem persists, it's recommended to clear existing permissions to have a check via going to :
Data > Get Data > Data Source Settings > Global permissions > click “Clear all permissions to remove all permissions”. Then try to connect to this web content again.
Hope this will help you.
