I have a user who's Excel is constantly crashing with no rhyme or reason to when it is happening. I have tried a quick repair, an online repair, updating the software, and completely uninstalling and reinstalling the software and then updating it. The user is using a Dell Precision 5520. I have attached one of the errors from the event log for reference. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Eric Sar

Thank you for coming back to our forum.

If you tried the safe mode or clean boot to check the result? Did they work?

If all the suggestion mentioned in above reply still can’t solve the problem, please try the following steps:

Go to File>Option<Advanced >uncheck the ‘Disable hardware graphics acceleration’ option>then click OK,  restart your Excel application.

If the issue still persists, please try to create a new user account to check the result.

Regards,

Stacey

Thanks for replying Stacey, We have had all COM add-ins disabled from the beginning and the issue has persisted. I will attach the version here. I have tried clearing the Excel cache and am waiting to hear back from the user to see if that helps. This is the only user in our environment that is experiencing this issue.

    Hi Eric Sar

Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.

As per your description, please don’t worry we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

If you tried the methods you mentioned, but the excel still keep crushed, try the following steps:

    1. Remove COM add-ins.
    1. Go to File>Options>Add-in>Then at the bottom of dialog box > modify the Manage drop-down to COM add-ins > choose Go.

After that clear checkbox for the enabled COM add-ins > click OK.

    1. Run Excel in safe modeor clean bootto see if other programs caused this problem.
    2. If the suggestion still can’t work, try to create a new user account to see the result.

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial suggestions may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So, Please kindly provide more information below to let us work further.

May I know if just the one user have this issue in your organization?

Can you give us the product information of your Office? You can go to Word>File> Account to give a screenshot.

    Appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Regards,

    Stacey
