I have been trying to add / customize quick access tool bar via more commands and when I add the selected command and press ok, I keep on getting the below error.

"The server draft location you entered for offline editing is not valid or you do not have permissions to access that location. Specify a location on your local computer"

After which I tried changing the "offline editing options for document management server files" and here I cant see the Browse Button.

Please advice why? This is across all my MS Office applications except MS Outlook.

The server drafts location you  entered for offline editing is not valid (updated)

That’s why this message will appear

“The server drafts location you entered for offline editing is not valid or you do not have permission to access that location. Specify a location on your local computer.”

In short, this has nothing to do with Office, and most likely, you (or someone/something else) deleted your c:\Users[username]\Documents folder. Closing Office 365, re-creating this folder should fix this problem.

    Update (Feb 28, 2021)

An update as per RandomStranger’s comment below:

I was doing some research, and its work, maybe this will help some of you. Try this :

    1. Press the Win+R to bring up Run, type in regedit and press Enter
    2. In the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\Offline\Options
    3. Right-click on the right side and select NewString Value
    4. Name it Location, double-click it to start editing it and in the Value data field put C:\Users\admin\Documents\SharePoint Drafts value
    5. Click OK to Confirm

Then close and re-open Word/PowerPoint/Excel and check the issue again.

    Thank you!

    Dear Chanuka,

    Welcome to the forum here.

From your description, it seems that you are trying to resolve the issue by using the solution mentioned by Hans in the article.

If yes, regarding "After which I tried changing the 'offline editing options for document management server files' and here I cant see the Browse Button.", I'd like you to upload some related screenshots for our confirmation.

Meanwhile, may I know whether the computer is a personal computer or a company computer? If it is a company computer, do other users encounter the issue?

As Online Repair may fix some issues in the Office applications, I suggest you log into the computer with the administrator account>go to Control Panel>click on Programs>right-click on the Office applications' icon>Change>check whether there is an Online Repair option. If yes, run it, restart the computer and then do a test to see the result.

Moreover, I'd like you to upload a full screenshot of the Account page in the Word application you are using for our reference. You can access the page via clicking on File>Account.

Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshots.

Thanks for your effort and time.

    Cliff
