Hi, I was making a writing a note on my iPad when the note suddenly froze and the contents and page background disappeared. Now I can't see the title on the page or the notes I made, and I can't scroll on the page or draw anything new. I've quit the app and loaded it again and restarted the iPad but my note content is still missing. How can I get my note content back?

Thank you.

    Hi Sean,

I don't have a Windows computer or Sharepoint.

I've tried exporting the note too but I just get the spinning rainbow cursor. Other notes can be exported fine, just not the one which has missing content.

Hope you have a good day too!

Hi tl.21, Thanks for your reply,It's sad to hear that you are still suffering this issue, I search a lot and find a thread which also reminds the same error "this notebook can't be opened for editing" : ThreadThe thread owner solves this issue with OneNote client on Windows. If you have a Windows computer, I suggest you check whether you transfer some data in the affected section to another section and try seeing if you can use the OneNote 2016 Export feature to back up some data as the thread owner mentioned. If the scenario is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that. I will help you figure out how to recover it.Have a great day.Regards,
    Sean

    Hi!

Under Recent Notes I can still see the note, but can't see its content or the title.

On the Chrome version of OneNote, I can see and click the note, but an error message says 'this notebook can't be opened for editing'. On the Mac app, I can also see and click the note but the content and title is still missing.

    1. Unfortunately I do not, but I think I was just trying to write more notes.
    2. No error messages or warnings on the iPad.
    3. Yup I can write and draw on other notes in the same notebook and in other notebooks, just not in that particular note.
    4. iPadOS 15.5

    Thanks for the quick response

Hi tl.21, Thanks for posting thread in our community forum,I go through your description and have a  few tests with my iPad.

Nothing seems to be wrong and please check if you can recover your content in the Recent Notes. Also, please check if you have synced the note through OneNote on web.Meanwhile, to narrow down the issue, please help me with the information below:1.Do you remember what steps you made before the page froze?2.Is there any error messages or warnings?3.If you can write or draw normally on a new notebook or all notebooks have the same issue?4.What is the software version of your iPad?Thanks for your understanding and patience, have a good day. Regards, Sean
