SharePoint: A small file downloaded when using Safari

Hello,

When I share a folder on mac or via iphone using SharePoint, other users get a small file downloaded when using Safari. This file is automatically loaded when each folder is opened.

Example: "39dbef4f-09f5-490f-905a-193408b8aba0"

Since the file has no content, I assume this is a token.

The problem occurs only

– if the user has read-only rights (owners have no problems)

– when Apple Safari is used (Chrome and Firefox work)

Thanks for the help!

    Hello Tin,

I conclude from the fact that you do not answer that the problem is not sitting in front of the monitor. :-)

If there is no problem with Edge, Chrome and Firefox, it is Safari. Safari probably does not accept hidden download.

It's probably a security issue. I guess everyone blames the other.

The old versions of Safari accepted the hidden download.

The problem only occurs with newer versions of Safari.

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Dear Tin,

thank you for trying to solve the problem.

I created the share link in the browser from a synced folder.

If you send me your email address, I will send you the share link.

    Here is the screenshot.

    Thank you.

    Dear mikmac7,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I noticed that you provided version information for OneDrive, So I want to confirm if you uploaded the folder directly to the SharePoint document library. If it is convenient for you, can you provide relevant screenshots detailing the location of the folder.

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator
