Powerpoint Design Features...Lacking.

Upon purchasing the license for 365, I'm seeing that all of the best functions of PPT are NOT available within the online version. Gone are the design capabilities for text (outlining, shadows, etc.), gone are the abilities to copy from PPT and paste to another platform...MANY features are gone. Why is this and is there a plan to have those features integrated in the future?

Our school has gone away with all Windows computers. They are only allowing us to use Chromebooks. Hence the problem. :(

Well, that is a school problem. They decided to go cheap on the hardware, the students have to live with the consequences.

MS has NEVER said the online versions were fully functional. And the 'small device' versions (Android, iPhone, Chrome) have even fewer functions than even the online one.

You weren't duped, but you didn't read the fine print so you had mistaken expectations. Sorry.

To get all the features, you need to be using a Windows desktop computer. Second-best is a Mac desktop. The mobile and online versions are not designed to be replacements for the desktop software.

Yes, the online version of all the Office apps are "dumber" than the desktop apps. MS has no announced plans to make the onine apps "fully functional". The online apps are free to use for everyone. They are there as an "emergency" backup for subscribers.
