I have tried all of the solutions below for this error which is happening on my PowerPoint application. This issue persists in safe mode. I checked and validated all fonts are working.

This issue started happening when I updated my OS software to Ventura 13.0 on Monday.

The current verision of PowerPoint is 16.66.1

I have tried opening from dock and from finder and it happens on all occasions, trying to start a new or open an exisiting file.

We understand you are getting an error when you try opening Word application on your mac, and you have tried re-installing Office apps.

Please try stating your mac in safe mode and check if Word app opens without any issue. To know how to start mac in safe mode, see Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

If the issue doesn't happen when your Mac is started in safe mode, try restarting without pressing any keys. If the issue doesn't come back in normal mode, it was probably caused by a cache or directory issue with your startup disk, which safe mode fixed.

If the issue remains, the error could also be because of corrupted font, please try validating fonts in Font book app. If you find any corrupted font, delete them. To know how, see Validate fonts

If the issue persists, please provide the following information:

  1. Please confirm the version of your Office apps. For this open any working app such as Excel, go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel.
  2. Since when you are getting this issue? Is it after an update?
  3. May I know your OS version? From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose About This Mac. You'll see the macOS name, such as macOS Catalina, followed by its version number.
  4. Are you getting the error when you open a new Word document or an existing one?
  5. Do you open Word app from Applications folder in Finder or Dock?

Let me know the status. Have a nice day😊

Regards,

Neha

Here are the steps to do a true uninstall on a Mac. Follow this up by reinstalling from your Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page.
