Difficulty with MS Word document with inserted pictures

Could anyone explain in a layman’s term that how “inserted objects” works in MS Word document?

I have been battling to create a document with a number of pictures inserted.

With my limited knowledge, my attempted document never gets done as the latest version looked ok on the screen, so I printed. Here it goes, pictures were displaced all over the places.

I just want to create a page document wth 5 pictures inserted. I just cannot complete this simple document, driving me nuts.

By the way I posted a difficulty as document character spacing was wrong on screen.

I found out it was caused by a wrong selection made in “Immersive Reader”. How did I get mixed up in this? God knows, surely, I didn’t go there. at least intentionally. I want to thank everyone who tried to help me on that.

Make sure you are viewing the document in Print Layout view (not Read Mode or Web Layout) in the desktop version of Word (not the browser version). Print Layout will be relatively WYSIWYG, but Print Preview will give you the most accurate view of what will print.

Have you installed the most recent updates for Word/Office for Windows?

Normally, inserted images will be inserted "In line with text," which means that they behave like (large) text characters. You can change the Text Wrapping and move the images.

Alternatively, you can position an image by putting it inside a table cell (hide the cell borders as desired).

Perhaps you can upload a screen shot which illustrates the (undesired) outcome that you get.

    Hi CanipCanada!

Perhaps you did not apply "text wrap" around the PIctures and as such the pictures are not rightly formated in the word document

To apply text wrap after you have inserted the Pictures from the insert tab> this device> select the picture> insert.

To apply the text wrap: Right-click the picture> click on Wrap Text> Select the square option: This will allow the pictures to be well wrapped around the text in the Word document.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru
