Question

Until today, when I opened up my laptop I would see a different scenic picture from Microsoft before I entered my Password and got to my desktop. All of a suddent, that stopped happening today. I want to keep my desktop as is, once I am logged in. How can I restore the beautiful images that appeared befor I would log on to my laptop?

Are you saying you want to bring back the images that show up on your Lock Screen, if so here are some steps: Open the Settings app:

Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app in Windows 11.

Go to the Personalization settings: In the Settings app, click on the "Personalization" category.

Select the Lock screen settings: In the left sidebar, click on "Lock screen."

Choose the background settings: Under the "Background" section, make sure the option "Windows spotlight" is selected.

This option allows Windows to display a variety of scenic images on your lock screen.

Check additional settings:

Scroll down to review other lock screen settings, such as "Choose apps to show quick status" and "Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen."

Make sure these settings are configured according to your preferences.

Lock your computer: Press the Windows key + L on your keyboard or use the Start menu to lock your computer.

What you can do is go onto a web browser and type the details of the picture you liked and then type ‘Microsoft Lock Screen’ after it, this is very likely to get the right result for you.

Now save this by right clicking it and then clicking ‘Save As’ and make sure it’s file type (should be under the name box) is a common file type like: PNG, JPEG/JPG or TIF.

Then:

Open the Settings app: Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app in Windows 11.

Go to the Personalization settings: In the Settings app, click on the "Personalization" category.

Select the Lock screen settings: In the left sidebar, click on "Lock screen."

Choose the background settings: Under the "Background" section, click on the drop-down menu next to "Background" and select the "Picture" option.
