I can't add developer

I have tried to go to file>options>customize ribbon, but when I click options, the only option that comes up is Regional Format Settings.

I try to right-click the ribbon, and nothing happens.

I tried to go to the top of my macbook and click Excel, but that didn't work either.

I am getting so frustrated with this, as I have an assignment due shortly.

First, take a close look at the tabs displayed on the Ribbon to see if this symbol 》follows the last visible tab name. If so it means there are hidden tabs due to the window being too narrow to display all tabs. Either widen widen the window or click that symbol to open a list of hidden tabs.

If the Developer tab actually is missing...

It sounds like you're looking at instructions that pertain to Excel for Windows. In Excel for Mac you can either:

    • Go to Excel> Preferences> View then check the box at the bottom of the Preferences pane, or
    • Go to Excel> Preferences> Ribbon & Toolbar then on the Ribbon page scroll to the bottom of the Main Tabs list & check the Developer box.

    Hi

There is no File tab on the Ribbon, so you will not find an Options button because there is no File tab. You probably encountered information about a Windows version of Microsoft Office. The Mac version is different.

To get to the Ribbon settings do the following: Use the Menu Bar and choose Excel > Preferences > Ribbon and Toolbar.
