Tasks list sort order

Having added a few tasks I notice that the overall list will not then sort by due date. Has this always been the case?

    Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. My name is John and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

    According to tis article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/133fa637-3f47-4633-8d78-7289059fa630 all you need to do is to:

    1. Click or tap the three dots in the top right of your list to open the more menu.
    2. Then, select Sort by and you’ll have the option to organize your list by Importance, Due date, Added to My Day, Alphabetically or Creation date.

    Many thanks for your reply, John.

    It so happens that I fixed the problem about 10 seconds after I posted my question. I tried to find the post in order to say it should be ignored but I could not find my own post. This is a frequent problem.
