Hello!

This has happened multiple times new where I'm working on a document (on iPad) and the next time I'll open it again its missing mass amounts of work. I'm talking hours or days of work just gone from the document. When you check version history it shows no record for any of the missing work or access to the document, even when the device had internet access and said it was auto-saving. really frustrating because there's no file recovery like there is on desktop and I've never had this issue with mobile on my phone.

    Hello Gbott080,

I’m Gunasekar and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you.

This issue only happens if the Word document wasn’t saved successfully.

If you use Microsoft Word and have Autosave activated, on the iPad:

    1. Open Word.
    2. Click on the File tab.
    3. At the lower part in the File tab, look for the Recover Unsaved Documents option and then click on it.
    4. Look for the Word document you are trying to recover.
    5. Click Open.
    6. If you were able to open the document, it will give you the option to save the file.

If your file is stored in OneDrive or SharePoint in Microsoft 365, you can go back to a previous version of the file.

    Best regards,
