Link expiry

We have a user that sends links (pointing to files on his OneDrive); the links are sent to other users in the org.

However, these links tend to expire after about a month. He does not want this and wants his links to stay live for longer.

I cannot see a way to override this. I cannot see a expiry option when creating/sending links.

Is there a way around this?

    Dear Hanif,

    Good day!!

I would like to confirm whether the link shared with other users is the Anyone link and if it's expiring in around 30 days. If yes, I would like to let you know that you need to change the settings in the SharePoint Online Admin Center, please follow the below steps:

Open the Office 365 Admin Center> Click All Admin Centers and click on SharePoint Online Admin Center> Sharing> At "Choose expiration and permission options for Anyone links", either uncheck or increase the number of days for "These links must expire within this many days".

If this doesn't resolve the problem, please don't worry, we can work together and resolve the problem, so please let us know whether this behavior happens only to specific users or all users.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Sophia

    Dear Hanif,

Thanks for writing back to us.

If the problem is happening to every shared link for the user, then the possible reason is the expiration setting in your SharePoint Online Admin center but since you mentioned it's not available, I would like to like to know whether you have scrolled down in the Sharing page. If you haven't, go to the Sharing page under Policies in SharePoint Online Admin Center and then scroll down to find the option.

If you are still not able to find it, then please contact the related SharePoint Online team via phone support where they can help you to take the remote session and find out the cause of the problem by collecting the HAR logs. Open the Office 365 admin center> Support> Help & Support.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.

    Have a good day!!

    Best Regards,

    Sophia

    Thanks for that Sophie.

But I do not see these option:

"Choose expiration and permission options for Anyone links"

    in Policies->Sharing.

There is only one user using this facility at the moment so I am not sure if applies to everyone or not.
