OneNote notebook missing after iPad app update

I use OneNote on a Mac and an iPad.

After updating the iPad OneNote app to version 16.69, my notebook is missing from the iPad. There is no error message, simply nothing there, despite me being logged in. The iPad is on iOS version 16.2.

The notebook and all it's pages are still accessible on my Mac.

I have tried to "reset OneNote" in iOS settings, as per another thread. This has not succeeded.

Can someone please advise me how to restore my notebook and content to the iPad.

Thank you Gunasekar for taking the time to reply.

I have followed the steps in your message and the linked article. This has not resolved the issue.

The article contains this step ‘Open OneNote, tap the back***<***icon in the upper-left corner of the screen until you see your list of notebooks, and tap the gear icon next to the account name and email address.’ The issue I have is not seeing my list of notebooks at all, despite being signed in.

    Hello Neil_R,

I’m Gunasekar and I will be happy to help you with your question, I am a Microsoft consumer like you.

I understand that you are having issues syncing OneNote files on the iPad. You could try the following suggestions below and share the outcome.

Logout and log back into OneNote to reset your credentials and avoid authentication problems.

    1. In Microsoft OneNote for iOS, go to Settings on your device:
    2. On an iPad, tap the gear icon in the upper right corner.
    3. On the Settings screen, under Account, tap the account name.
    4. Tap the account name again and then choose Remove Account.
    5. Accept the notification that appears to confirm signing out.
    6. Double-tap the device's home button, and swipe up on the OneNote app to close it.
    7. Start OneNote and sign in to your account.

If the issue persists, Open the notebook in the browser (www.onenote.com) and check the online notebook. If the online notebook doesn’t have the latest content, please manually copy/paste the unsynchronized content from the OneNote application to the online notebook.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of OneNote (Download the latest version from the given link below and check if it helps)

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll be glad to assist you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N
