Authenticator not getting push notification from Onedrive personal locker

I'm trying to figure why Authenticator mobile app running on Android 13 on a Galaxy s20 is not getting push notifications when I try to sign into my personal locker. It appears to not have issues signing into my overall Microsoft account.

  • Without the app actively running, my device is not receiving push notification when I try to sign into my personal locker in Onedrive on my laptop. My laptop is an 2021 M1 macbook pro, but I'm using the browser version of onedrive running in chrome. I also tested with Safari with identical results.
  • I can get the notifications to show up within the app if I go to settings > check for notifications and hit "check for notifications" twice. The first time it says "no notifications," but when I check notification a second time, I can finally get the pop-up to show.
  • I've turned on notifications in the the Authenticator app and fully allowed notifications at a system level with sound, banners, etc. I have focus mode/do not-disturb off. I've tried all the usual recommended quick fixes, like rebooting the phone, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, clearing the cache on both the mobile app and Chrome/Safari. Nothing has fixed it.

While I can still get into my personal using the workaround above (knock on wood), it is really, really annoying that I now have to constantly go into the app and actively check (twice!) for my notifications to show up. I have no idea why this basic functionality stopped working suddenly.

    Hi Abdal, as I said in my post, I already reinstalled, cleared app data/cache, and enabled app and system notification settings. I also turned off battery optimization but forgot to include in the post. I've confirmed my date/time settings are correct. The issue remains. Is there something else I can try?
