Project View for users without Project Plan 1

We have several projects created in Project for the Web by users with Project Plan 1

-These projects are tied to MS Teams so anyone in the Team can view the project.

Now it's my understanding that users without Project Plan 1 have a "Limited Access" view of the project meaning they can only edit % complete on tasks they're assigned to. I believe it also lets them change expected end time but I could be wrong...

The issue is some of these users without PP1 can't make any changes to tasks their assigned to. All of our users have either Business Basic or Business Premium licenses. To my understanding these should be sufficient to update tasks that are directly assigned to them.

Our users with the issue have Basic so I switched them to Premium as a test and this immediately allowed them to update their assigned tasks.

Where in MS Documentation can I find the differences in Project access for Basic/Premium???????????

Is this even the "fix" I think it is?

Thanks in Advance.

I am not a Microsoft licensing expert. I do not work for Microsoft and am simply a volunteer in this user forum. I have given you the best information I have about permissions in Project for the Web. If I am in error, I would welcome someone in this forum to correct me. Or perhaps you should talk with your organization's Microsoft software licensing contact. Hope this helps.

Your team members need Project Plan 1 licenses to be able to edit their own tasks in Project for the Web. Upgrading them to Premium gives them a Project Plan 5 license, which is WAY MORE than is needed (and way more costly as well). People who do not have at least a Project Plan 1 license can view their tasks, but cannot edit them. Hope this helps.

What's granting the "Limited Access" view then? That part is what's confusing me because we have users without PP1 that get "Limited Access" as long as their assigned to a task??
