I was having this same issue and your advice helped me. Thank you.

This is such a wasteful shame to need to do this silly work-around. My Windows 11 pc was using the "old" Outlook app and I decided to use the "New" Outlook app. No problems setting up all of my email addresses when I had originally set them up on the "old" Outlook app. The "New" Outlook app was giving me so many issues.

Log out of your academic 365 account, then add your other accounts. The Office 365 is preventing you from adding any new accounts to Outlook.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble adding your personal account to Outlook. It's possible that your organization has set up restrictions that prevent you from adding personal accounts to Outlook.

To disallow academic accounts from interfering with your personal 365 subscription, you can try removing the academic accounts from Outlook. Here are the steps to remove an account from Outlook:

    1. Open Outlook and click on the "File" tab.
    2. Click on "Account Settings" and then select "Account Settings" again from the drop-down menu.
    3. Select the account you want to remove and click on "Remove".
    4. Confirm that you want to remove the account by clicking "Yes".

Once you have removed the academic accounts, you should be able to add your personal account to Outlook. If you continue to experience issues, I recommend reaching out to your organization's IT department for further assistance.
