Can't insert table row Android tablet

I have the same Android version of OneNote on both my phone and my tablet. On the phone, I can easily insert a row or column by long-pressing in the table--a table icon appears in a toolbar. On the tablet, there is no pop-up tool to do that, and there doesn't seem to be any way. Why are the features different? And is there any way to do this on the tablet?

Thank you - I'll do that. I'm much more likely to need this editing capability on the larger tablet format that on my small phone, and I suspect I'm not alone in that.

    Hi Kathy2343,

    I appreciate your patience waiting.

Upon further consultation, it turns out that this is a limitation on the said platform. As you also had stated, the problem occurs on your husband's Android tablet. With that being said, I highly recommend that you provide feedback. We’d love to hear from you about what’s working well, what’s not, and any ideas for improvements including possible new features and functions.

You may refer to this link for more information on how you can provide feedback. How do I give feedback on Microsoft 365? - Microsoft Support

    Sincerely

    Hi Kathy2343,

Thank you for providing this information.

I will have to double check this issue on my end to verify if this is somewhat a limitation on the said platform. Please give me time to check on this. Rest assured; I'll get back to you once I have the information.

    I appreciate your understanding.

    Sincerely

    1. May I know what is the version of your OneNote on your Android tablet?
16.0 1666.20166, which appears to be the most current version. It's also apparently the most current version available on my phone but behaves differently there.
    2. Is this the first time you are using the feature on your tablet?
Not sure. I use OneNote all the time on desktop and phone, but rarely on my tablet and not usually with tables.
    3. Can you provide us a screenshot of the available option you have on the OneNote app on your Android tablet?
Here is one from the tablet, followed by one from the phone. On the tablet, long-pressing brings up the keyboard (sorry--it's showing the options for the keyboard instead of the keyboard itself--my error but doesn't affect the issue) and a paste option. On the phone, it brings up a toolbar with an edit table option.

I should note that my husband's Pixel tablet and phone (mine are Samsungs) have the same issue. It was he who first discovered it. That is, he has the problem on his tablet, but not on his phone.

    Hi Kathy2343

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum. I hope you're doing well.

Based on your description, it seems to be that you have a problem with inserting table rows in OneNote on Android tablet. Let's work together to find the best solution to this problem.

I would like to ask some questions to better understand the problem.

    • May I know what is the version of your OneNote on your Android tablet?
    • Is this the first time you are using the feature on your tablet?
    • Can you provide us a screenshot of the available option you have on the OneNote app on your Android tablet?

In the meantime, I would suggest that you check for updates on your OneNote application to get the latest updates.

I look forward to your reply.

    Sincerely
