Office 2021 activation problem

Hi - I entered my new licence key on your website, and was directed to download Office 2021 Pro Plus. It installed easily, but when I entered my licence key again, it said that it wasn't valid. I think it's possible that I entered the key for my old Office 2010 that I had just removed, by mistake.

However, the message disappeared, not giving me a chance to enter the correct one. Now it would appear not to be activated, but there's no way for me to enter another key.

I have completely removed and reinstalled Office 2021, but no good.

Can anybody advise please?

Thanks

Yes, I can edit documents, and I have already applied updates.

OK will send a message to MS...

    Thanks again

    Hi Hogweed!

    Thank you for the feedback.

Yes, you are right, there should be a message saying "Product activated" as shown below. https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/a2b60633-5743-4b1e-bf6e-37642c16b92f?platform=QnA

However, were you able to edit your documents or files on any of the Office applications, like Word, Excel, etc? If yes, then it is activated.

Try checking if there is an update on your Office 2021 and then install the updates. To do that, Click File> Select Account> Update option and select Check for update and install updates if available. Perhaps, the next update will help correct that.

If you need more information, you may contact Microsoft Support at https://support.microsoft.com/contactus.

I hope this helps! Please kindly let me know if you need any other assistance and I will be more than happy to help further.

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, I did all that earlier. It's associated with my existing Microsoft account, which I've had for many years. I can sign in fine etc.

BUT I believe that there should be a message saying "Product Activated" here:

    ...and there isn't.

    Hi Hogweed!

I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

I understand you are having an issue with activating Office 2021 on your PC

May I confirm if you associate the Office 2021 key with a Microsoft account? You know that when you first install Office 2021 using the Office setup on the Microsoft Office setup page, you were asked to create a Microsoft account or use an existing account.

If you install Office 2021 on your PC, you do not need the product key again, your Microsoft account will now be used for activation when you reinstall the Office product.

Please try the following: * Open any of the Office apps (e.g. Word), Click File> select Account and then sign into the Office with the email and password associated with the Microsoft account.

However, if that does not work, then you will need to completely uninstall Office from your PC using Microsoft Office uninstall tool, then reinstall Office by signing into your Microsoft account, and download, install, and activate Office using your Microsoft account.

    * Uninstall Office from the PC:

    * Reinstall Office

    • sign in to your Microsoft Account via https://account.microsoft.com/,
    • click on "Service and Subscription", find the version of Office 2021, download, install,
    • Then activate using the login credentials associated with your Microsoft account.

However, if the problem persists, you may need to contact Microsoft support via https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, as
