Improper / additional legends while having nested axis labels for stacked column when having only 1 series

Hi Microsoft tech team,

When I try to create stacked column chart with 1 series, I'm getting multiple legends based on the categories.
In the below image, I am expecting only one legend as Total instead of having 4 legends which are categories.

Data used to create this excel ->

Product Periods Group Distribution
Product A 10/31/2020-11/21/2020 Total 90.0%
10/30/2021-11/20/2021 Total 70.0%
Product B 10/31/2020-11/21/2020 Total 80.0%
10/30/2021-11/20/2021 Total 100.0%

But if I have multiple series, I am able to see proper legends which is based only on the available series.

Product B 10/31/2020-11/21/2020 West 7.4%
10/30/2021-11/20/2021 West 29.8%

I am unable to attach the excels, so have added the images and the data used to create charts.

Could you please check and update on this ? Please let me know if any more info is needed.

Thanks,

    See my sample workbook at https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7gyfzczfh2w9mmdbu17zg/SampleChart.xlsx?rlkey=kps28sz3x514iie74nb6zxjsr&dl=1

    Perhaps you should create the chart again from scratch...

    Hi @HansV,

    On clicking the first chart's series,

    I see the below

    Series Values -> =((DataSheet1!$D$2,DataSheet1!$D$3),DataSheet1!$D$4,DataSheet1!$D$5)

    On clicking the category axis label range, I see below

    Axis label range -> =DataSheet1!$A$2:$B$5

    Please let me know if anything else is needed

    In the first (problem) chart:

    Click Edit under Legend Entries (Series). What do you see in the Series values box?

    Click Edit under Horizontal (Category Axis) Labels. What do you see in the Axis label range box?
