Hello,

I tried everything I found on the net related to this topic, but I can't repair my word file... it's corrupted. Line 2, column 202526, xml parsing error.

Please can somebody help to, at least, try to recover my document ? Can i send it to someone who can try for me ?

This is for my mid-term exam, my delivery time is up so if i can't have this file as soon as possible i can fail the subject (sorry my english, i am not an english speaker)

Thanks a lot

Angelis

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your Word document. It seems like the file is corrupted and you are getting an XML parsing error.

You can try to recover the file by following these steps:

    1. Open a new blank document in Word.
    2. Click on the "File" tab and select "Open".
    3. Browse to the location where your corrupted file is saved.
    4. Click on the file to select it, but do not open it yet.
    5. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the "Open" button and select "Open and Repair".
    6. If the repair is successful, you should be able to open the file and save it as a new document.

If the above steps do not work, you can try using the "Recover Text from Any File" feature in Word. Here's how:

    1. Open a new blank document in Word.
    2. Click on the "File" tab and select "Open".
    3. Browse to the location where your corrupted file is saved.
    4. Click on the file to select it, but do not open it yet.
    5. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the "Open" button and select "Recover Text from Any File".
    6. Select the corrupted file and click "Open".
    7. The recovered text will be displayed in the new document. You can then save it as a new document.

If none of these steps work, you can try using a third-party file recovery tool or seek assistance from a professional data recovery service.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Can you share your document via OneDrive of Dropbox. The link you have provided refers to Google docs and I do not like downloading anything using third party software other than Dropbox.

A repaired copy of your document has been uploaded to the following folder of my OneDrive

    https://1drv.ms/f/s!AmuIXmFDy-1azRlX2JBMPPp_Nb1x

    or

    https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AFfYkEw8%2Dn81vXE&id=5AEDCB43615E886B%219881&cid=5AEDCB43615E886B

Let me know when you have retrieved it so that I can delete it from that folder.

You will be far less likely to encounter such errors if you change the layout of all of the images in the document so that they are In-Line with Text

    Hello

I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Word document. XML parsing errors can occur due to various reasons such as issues with the formatting of your texts, corrupted images inserted into the file, etc. Here are some steps you can try to recover your document:

    1. Change the file extension: Select the Word document showing the error and press F2 to change the file extension. Now change the extension from .docx to .zip
    2. Extract the XML file: Double-click on the file converted to .zip. You will see a number of files that are a part of the word document. From the location in the error message identify the file causing the error. Extract this XML file outside the zip archive
    3. Edit the file using Notepad++: Right-click on the extracted XML file and select Edit with Notepad++. In the formatted file, go to the location mentioned in the error. Look for inconsistencies like special characters not enclosed in a code block and unusually formatted links and code
    4. Save and rename the file: After resolving the error, press Ctrl + S to save this file. Copy and paste it back into the .zip file. Now rename the file to .docx or .doc and try opening it again

    I hope this helps.
