Format Repeated Text

I'm having difficulty formatting repeated text. I have used an editable bookmark to the title of the document that repeats in the header of subsequent pages. The bookmark works, however, I cannot apply formatting in the cross-reference in the header. It needs to be a different font size and on the same row as other details. Adding \*Charformat to the cross-reference properly formats the font but puts the title at the top of the header.

Word automatically adds a space in the bookmark that cannot be removed. If this space is removed for testing purposes, everything works fine. However, it deletes the bookmark, adds rows, and the title cannot be changed and then format properly.

This is an SOP template that will be used by many people of varying Word literacy. Therefore, I need an easy solution. I cannot use Content Controls and restrict the document because literally every other part of the document should be freely editable.

Any solutions?

It is very easy to delete bookmarks by accident.

Try using mapped content controls instead.

    HiWordgirl30

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with MS Office wherein you are looking for a simple solution to your current problem. Because your word app automatically adds space on your bookmark which you are unable to remove. And when you try to change the text format it shows the correct font but puts the title bar at the very top of your header.

Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

    • We would like to know if you have tried using a different template+ and checked if it has the same behavior?

In the meantime, we would like you to provide us with some answers first to the questions above. In order for us to provide you with a more accurate solution.

We look forward to your reply,

    Sincerely
