Thank you for responding to my query. Your response is probably more than I can follow as it is my first dashboard. Let me tell you what I do know. It is a dashboard with multiple links. On my computer they all work correctly. When I send it to someone to check it seems like it is in a design mode as compared to a working mode. I am using 385 and updated to pro for this project.

As I understand it, I needed to use the OneDrive options.

I also tried to add all the links onto the workbook to see if that would help but it defeats the purpose that I want a dashboard for.

Not sure what to do next.

    Hello ,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

When an Excel dashboard is not working properly when shared, there can be several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some common troubleshooting steps you can take to address the problem:

    1. Data Source Paths: If your dashboard relies on external data sources, ensure that the file paths to these data sources are correctly set. When sharing the dashboard, the file paths might need to be adjusted to reflect the location of the data sources on the shared network or storage.
    2. Linked Data: If your dashboard uses linked data from other Excel files or external databases, make sure that these links are correctly set up and that the shared users have access to these linked data sources.
    3. Formula Errors: Check for any formula errors in your dashboard. Sometimes, errors can occur due to incorrect or broken formulas. Review your formulas and fix any errors that might be causing issues.
    4. Missing Add-ins: If your dashboard relies on specific Excel add-ins to function properly, make sure that these add-ins are enabled for all users who are accessing the shared dashboard.
    5. Compatibility Issues: Different versions of Excel might have compatibility issues with certain features or functions. Ensure that the Excel version used by all users is compatible with the features used in the dashboard.
    6. Macro Security Settings: If your dashboard includes macros or VBA code, make sure that the security settings in Excel allow macros to run. Users might need to adjust their macro security settings to enable macros.
    7. Data Refresh: If your dashboard includes data connections that require refreshing, ensure that the data is being refreshed properly when the dashboard is opened by shared users. Data connections may need to be configured to refresh automatically.
    8. Protected View: If the shared users are opening the dashboard in "Protected View," some features might be disabled. Encourage users to enable editing if necessary.
    9. File Permissions: Check the file permissions for the shared Excel dashboard. Ensure that all users have the necessary permissions to access and modify the file.
    10. File Size and Complexity: Large and complex Excel files might not function properly in shared environments due to performance limitations. Consider optimizing your dashboard by minimizing unnecessary elements and reducing file size.
    11. Testing with Different Users: If possible, test the shared dashboard with different users and computers to identify if the issue is specific to certain configurations or settings.
    12. Online Sharing Platforms: If you're using online sharing platforms (like OneDrive or SharePoint), ensure that the dashboard files are correctly uploaded and shared, and that any sharing settings are configured appropriately.

    Best Regards, Shalom
