Managing Teams Folder access

Question

I have given a group access to a Team, but within that team I want to restrict access from certain people on certain folders. Is there a way to do that if those people are within the group that has been given access? Or since they are in the main group, is there no way to restrict them individually?

Regarding to another question, "Is there a way to restrict channels within the Team?" Currently, when you add a member to a Teams, they automatically have access to all the channels in the Team. The only exception is when you have a private channel, then in this case the users will not have access to it unless you add him/her.

The feature to restrict access to specific channels within a Team already requested and Microsoft team are working on it. We can expect this feature to be used in the future.

As per your description, yes, you can restrict access to certain folders within a Microsoft team even if the people are part of the group that has been given access to the team.

To do this, you can navigate to the team folder in question. Right-click on the folder you want to restrict access to and select "Manage access">click on "Advanced"> click on "Stop Inheriting Permissions" at the top of the pane>select all the user/group and click on "Remove user permissions "button.

The you may click on "+Grant access permission" button and add those people that you want to access (do not add whose people you want to restrict).

And do the same steps for another Folder individually.

By doing this, you can restrict access to certain folders within a team even if the people are part of the group that has been given access to the team.

 The restrict access people don't see Folder that you restrict in a Team File tab.
