I have Microsoft 365 (Personal) version 18.2311.1071.0 installed and the checkbox functionality is still not part of the excel solution. What do I need to get my solution updated or when will it update automatically (if I do not need to do anything)

Good morning, thank you for the reply. Your advise is for the old functionality and not the newly released (2023) checkbox functionality.
The in-cell check box control became available to me today (26-Jul-2024) in the Current Channel of Microsoft 365.

Sorry to provide you with a screenshot of an older version. But in newer versions of Office, the checkboxes are still located in Developer Tools -> Insert -> Form Controls.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with Excel.
If you want to add either a check box or an option button, you’ll need the Developer tab on your Ribbon.
Then please follow the procedure: Add a check box or option button (Form controls) - Microsoft Support
