Autocorrect spelling Mac Version 16.94

Question

Can't seem to get Autocorrect spelling to work on Mac Sequoia.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Neither would it automatically correct muvies, mivies, or any other misspelling of that word. AutoCorrect does not correct every conceivable misspelling/typo. It automatically corrects only the errors & items included in the AutoCorrect List which isn't included in your screen shot. The bottom checkbox in the AutoCorrect dialog is a bit misleading — it pertains only if the internal mechanism has only a single reasonable alternative to offer which is rare.

If you have specific typos/errors which you make consistently you can add them to the list.

Example:

If I want to type the following:

I went to the movies, but purposefully type it incorrectly like this: I wint to the moovies.

Word underlines incorrect spelling, but does not autocorrect it..

I would expect Word to autocorrect it as I type, but it does not.

Please don't follow irresponsible suggestions to revert to an earlier version or remove/reinstall the software. I spend several hours daly in the Word Communities & have not seen any such widespread issue mentioned. Neither have I encountered the issue, myself, running version 16.94 on the 15.3.1 release of Sequoia.

I also do not agree with lumping you into the nebulous different language regions category without having any idea what Language(s) are involved or identifying which ones are affected.

It's almost certain that there is another explanation. If you'll provide a more detailed description of the concern as well as specific examples it can probably be resolved rather easily.

We have recently received similar feedback from users in different language regions, and it appears to be a widespread issue caused by the new version. To avoid any disruption to your usage, we recommend temporarily reverting to an earlier version as a temporary solution. Please download the earlier version of Office (16.93) from the link below, and then use the license removal tool to renew your license

If you have problems with version 16.93 you can also revert back to a previous version.
