Win 11, MS 365 Apps for Enterprise 16.0.18129.20200

MS access DB crashes when attempting to put new filter in field of a Query.

Did compact/repair. Tried filter in other fields, still just crashes without displaying error.

Google searches revealed this is a re-occurring issue that MS must patch to fix. whatever last patch they pushed, must have broken the functionality,

    Hi Shane,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

I understand the inconvenience you are experiencing. Since we are communicating in the community, I am not able to check your environment directly. Therefore, I would like to gather more information for initial troubleshooting. You can share the results with us, which will help us narrow down the problem.

    1. Is the problem in a specific database, or is it also in other databases? In addition, if possible, I suggest you open the database on another machine to see if is specific to your current setup.

If the problem is also in other databases, I recommend you repair Access and then check again. Go to Windows Settings> Apps> Installed apps> find the Office suite, such as Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise en-us> select Modify> choose Online Repair. After repairing, please open the database and check again.

    1. Since you are using Access Version 2410, I recommend you disable Monaco SQL Editor and then check again.

Click File> Options> Current Database> uncheck the "Enable Monaco SQL Editor" option> OK. Then close the database and reopen it. See if the crash problem persists.

    1. I would like to know if you are having this problem after updating Office/Access. If not, please point it out and let us know. If so, I suggest you revert to an earlier version of Access, such as Version 2409 (Build 18025.20242). See if the problem persists.

How to revert to an earlier version of Office

Roll-back to previous versions of Office
