For the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.
As per your description, based on my test, it seems that I also meet the same behaviour (Reproduced) from my side when I access Planner or My Task by default it will open in Grid view.
Based on the above, I believe Microsoft has changed the function, but this change is being deployed problematically in the Planner app and that might be a reason for. In this case, I sincerely suggest you report the issue to the Planner team as they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. And a lot of the features are fixed and improved based on customer feedback.
I suggest you report the issue and provide your feedback by the following methods:
- Use the in-app feedback tool to send your feedback: Click the feedbackbutton on the right-up corner of Planner > Click I don’t like something to report the issue:
