Hello Team,

Users are facing issues while accessing Microsoft office applications and it throws error “something went wrong [5fcl8]

It just started this week. Server 2019 RDS server with Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise. We have also noted that the new users we have created are impacted, but prior users are not. Any new user also has trouble accessing the Start Menu and search functions when RDP'ing directly into the server. We use our RDS server for remote apps.

User profiles which are created newly are facing this issue whereas old user profiles are able to access O365 applications successfully.

Web sign in works fine. Activation works fine from desktop apps on their laptop.

We have tried the following:

reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\FirewallRules /va /f

reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\RestrictedServices\Configurable\System /va /f

reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\RestrictedServices\AppIso\FirewallRules /va /f

Complete uninstallation and reinstallation of O365 on server but the issue still persists.

We are on Version 2501 Build 16.0.18429.20132 (64-bit) and Shared Computer Activation.

Server 2019 is up-to-date with the latest patching as of Thursday this week.
