Onedrive shared files

Question

I am trying to share a file on Onedrive with my child but it is not accepting the email address for them. Instead it keeps bringing up my ex's email by default. How do I remove my ex's email so it doesn't keep coming up and how do I add my childs?

What I was asking is if you created the accounts using the create account option when going to the Microsoft account website or have done what some parents do and create an account alias so the parents and child effectively use the same account.

Can you try creating a link and share the link with them via email?

Hi Nathan,

I'm unsure of what you are asking. My child shares my onedrive account through the family subscription and I just added his email address to the address book. Under onedrive emails, I only have my two children added.

My child is in my list of contacts and my ex isn't, yet when I try to share a file on onedrive with my child, it doesn't recognise their email and my ex's one comes up.

Please can you make sure your child is added as a contact in people: https://outlook.live.com/people/0/

With your child's email, does it still show your ex's email address when you type it in fully?
