I am SOOOOO FRUSTRATED! I thought windows was supposed to be extra user friendly for people to customize, I guess its just too bad for people who rely on making their own home screen more accessible to them.
Why we can't move the taskbar in windows11. Can we bring the updates in this version, to move the taskbar position?

Taskbar on Left, Right, Top, Bottom... I am not moving to Windows 11 until this functionality is restored, and I am pretty sure from reading the forums I am not the only one!

Having it on the left side provided additional lines of viewable text in documents before scrolling & w/o having to change view size. People who don't appreciate the value/utility of that long-standing capability should not be involved in a decision not to continue it in Win 11. Pure text documents are STILL important to many of us!

While I can't speak for Microsoft's motives, this change was part of a UI redesign that unfortunately removed customization many relied on. Even if you're not on Windows 11, your continued vocal feedback, alongside others, is crucial. The more users that raise their voices about it, the more likely it is that Microsoft will bring it back.
Best,

Currently, Windows 11 only supports the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, and Microsoft hasn’t officially reintroduced the option to move it to the top, left, or right. This change was part of a complete redesign of the taskbar, and so far, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed plans to bring back full repositioning.
That said, feedback like yours does matter. You can submit it directly through the Feedback Hub app in Windows 11, and Microsoft often uses that input to prioritize future updates.
Hope this helps, or if you need further assistance feel free to ask.
Best regards,
