If you're unable to receive Gmail messages in Outlook, this may be due to one of the following:
- Gmail account not properly synced
IMAP settings disabled in Gmail
Outlook rules or filters redirecting emails
Gmail security settings blocking access
Outlook profile corruption or outdated configuration
Please try the following steps to restore Gmail functionality in Outlook:
- Verify IMAP Is Enabled in Gmail Go to Gmail in your browser Click the gear icon → See all settings Navigate to Forwarding and POP/IMAP Ensure IMAP is enabled and POP is disabled
- Remove and Re-add Gmail Account in Outlook Open Outlook → File → Account Settings Select your Gmail account → Remove Click Add Account and re-enter your Gmail credentials Ensure you select IMAP during setup
- Check Gmail Security Alerts Log into Gmail via browser Check for any security alerts or blocked sign-in attempts Approve access if prompted
- Repair Outlook Profile In Outlook: File → Account Settings → Account Settings Select your Gmail account → Repair
- Review Outlook Rules and Filters File → Manage Rules & Alerts Delete or disable any rules that may be redirecting Gmail messages
