Windows Hello Face Recognition not working

After my recent update of Windows 24H2 on my Lenovo Laptop, my Face recognition isn't working. I have to manually enter PIN every time I login. Previously, on Windows 11 it was perking perfectly.

I have updated Windows, including any patches available, the latest being today (19th Oct 2025). Still it;s not working.

So, I go to Accounts --> Sign-in Options. There I can see "Facial Recognition (Windows Hello). After click Set-up, it asks me for my PIN, it opens my laptop camera and asks me to 'Keep my face in the center'. I DO NOT SEE A NEXT BUTTON. All that I see is CANCEL Button. So, I cannot proceed.

.....................
Can you point me to better diagnosis, or any straightforward solution?

    Hello,

Based on your description, this issue may be related to compatibility between the Windows 24H2 update and the biometric drivers on your Lenovo device.

Here are a few steps you can try:

Open Device Manager, expand Biometric Devices, and update or reinstall the facial recognition driver.

Visit Lenovo Support to check for updated drivers or firmware specific to your laptop model: Lenovo Camera Issue After Update.

If the issue persists, consider rolling back the update or disabling Fast Startup via Control Panel > Power Options.

Microsoft is actively reviewing feedback related to Windows Hello behavior in 24H2. We recommend monitoring the Windows release health dashboard for future fixes.

If my answer is useful for you, please vote for it.

    Best regards,

    Quinnie Quoc.
