Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

This issue often comes up when the password is incorrect, outdated, or if Outlook is using old saved credentials. It can also happen if you have two-factor authentication turned on. In that case, your regular password might not work, and you’ll need to create a special app password from your email provider’s security settings.
To fix it, first make sure your email password works by logging in through a browser. Then update the password in Outlook under Account Settings. If you’re using two-factor authentication, use an app password instead. Also, check that your IMAP settings match what your provider recommends.
