Copilot studio agent: usage limit is reached.

I have a production Copilot Studio bot deployed in Microsoft Teams, that is used by approximately 20 user with lets say 5-10 active daily users. Very often the bot returns the error:

“The AI Model Provider usage limit is reached. Try again later or contact your admin.”

Our situation:

  • The tenant has a few Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, but most users do not have one.
  • We have set up a pay-as-you-go model behind this bot.
  • Approximately 10 people actively use the bot daily within Teams.

Environment is production, not trial or developer.

  • We see this error frequently even with very low usage.

How can we make sure that my bot does not give this error message anymore and my users can use the bot unlimited?

    Hi Mathieu Paulides,

    If you have successfully linked the Production environment to pay-as-you-go billing plan in the Power Platform admin center, try to check copilot -> copilot studio if there are agent level limits set for this agent.

    Additionally, copilot studio has operational limits you can read about here, that maybe the reason why your users are experiencing the error (such as 10 sessions per user every 24 hours etc)
