How to avoid synching problems when working on 3 desktops

I have 3 desktops, two at my main home (reside 9 months) and one at a vacation home (reside 3 months). The vacation home is shut off when not there. Last year when I turned it on One Drive synched the files on the vacation home desktop as if they were the most current to One Drive and screwed all my spreadsheets up. How do I avoid this problem next time?

The documents already synced to OneDrive, you can access from the OneDrive on any computer or from the browser.

Before you leave a computer, go to OneDrive settings > Sync and Backup tab > Advanced settings and select "Free up disk space" to make all your files cloud-only.

Hi, I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.
To avoid the unwanted sync of devices, disable the OneDrive backup feature on the devices you don't want to be synced from.
Right-click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar > Sync and Backup > Manage Backup > Turn off all options.
