I hope that this is also a place to ask about more of theoretical stuff from home lab/learning.

This is all built in Hyper-v's lab enviorment
I have two file server which has cluster between them, now both are getting 2 LUNs(exact ones) from 2 seperate storages.
I want to able to have redundency to the storages so in case on of the storage servers is down ill still have full access to all the data.

What i've done is connected the LUN's to the two file servers(clustered) and created a pool of all the drives from the two servers, created a drive saved on that pool.
Now when im shuting down one of the storages I cant access the data.
what am i missing?

Thanks

    Hey,

You can use StarWind VSAN in order to replicate LUNs between your cluster nodes and create HA file server on top. The following guide will walk you through the configuration process: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resource-library/starwind-virtual-san-for-hyper-v-2-node-compute-and-storage-separated-scenario-with-windows-server-2016/

P.S. You can use free version to achieve it.

    Hi,

Generally, we have the following method to configure Cluster storage redundancy:

    1. Some storage vendors have their own storage redundancy technical, such as StarWind mentioned above. For that, we may consult the storage vendor for detailed information.
    2. If the storage redundancy doesn't fit your requirement, we may learn S2D technical on the Cluster nodes: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/storage-spaces/storage-spaces-fault-tolerance
    3. What's more, we may also learn Hyper-converged cluster to make storage redundancy:
