PC keeps completely freezing

So my Desktop (Acer Nitro N50-640, 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F (2.50 GHz)) keeps freezing. Picture, sound and all controls just freeze and stop working.
I've tried haphazardly update drivers and BIOS and Uninstalled Acer Care Centre, and the last one seemed to have helped. Until today when i was booting up a game and discord about the same time and it froze again.
It seems there is some sort of error with IPF, yet i cannot figure where or how to reinstall DPTF drivers or IPF drivers.
By searching up IPF on my pc searchbar i could find an .exe for IPF and i ran that, but i still keep seeing the IPF error.

ESIF(1.0.10701.24404) TYPE: ERROR MODULE: IPF TIME 12839 ms

[<IPFSRV>WebServer_Main@ipfsrv_ws_server.c#1342]<12839 ms>:

Unable to start IPF Server Listener [pipe://ipfsrv.icst]

Question is, since i cannot seem to find the drivers to download or know how to delete the old ones, can someone provide me the information and guidance on how to?
I've tried searching Acer Support and with my SNID and they dont seem to have the drivers with these names, nor could i find some on Intels own website.

Thank you!

    Hi Reetta,

Thanks for reaching out. I know it’s really frustrating when your PC freezes, especially during gaming or multitasking. I'm here to help!

First, it’s important to repair any potential system file corruption. Running sfc /scannow and the DISM health checks can help ensure Windows core files are intact. This often resolves underlying stability problems.

Second, the error you mentioned points to Intel’s Innovation Platform Framework (IPF) and Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework (DPTF). These drivers manage power and thermal performance, and if they’re missing or corrupted, freezes can occur. You can reinstall them by going to Device Manager → System Devices, locating the IPF and DPTF entries, and either updating or uninstalling and rebooting to let Windows reinstall them. Alternatively, use Intel’s Driver & Support Assistant to detect and update these components.

Third, Acer’s support site is the best source for the correct drivers. Enter your SNID or serial number, then download the IPF and DPTF drivers along with chipset and Intel Management Engine updates. These manufacturer-specific versions ensure compatibility with your Nitro N50-640.

Last, make sure your BIOS and Windows updates are up to date. Outdated firmware or OS builds can cause conflicts with power management frameworks. After updating, restart your PC and test stability.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer".
