I purchased a new laptop from Costco and a subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal came with it, which I am activating, however I received notification that it is only 1 month.

Did Costco give you a product key code? If so, you need to go to office.com/setup to redeem it, and then associate it with your Microsoft account.

This is consistent with Costco's instruction too: https://www.costco.com/wcsstore/CostcoUSBCCatalogAssetStore/Attachment/Activation-Office365-160614.pdf

If you don't receive it, please reach out to Costco support to verify that your purchase should include the 1-year subscription.

When you activate a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription that came with your new laptop, it is common for such promotions to provide only a limited trial period, often one month. After this initial period, you may need to purchase a full subscription to continue using the service without interruption. If you received a notification indicating that your subscription is only for one month, it likely means that the included subscription is a trial or promotional offer.

If you have further questions about your subscription or need assistance with activation, you can contact Microsoft 365 Support for help.
