Subject: Personal Microsoft Account Stuck in Blocked Azure AD Tenant (AADSTS5000225)
Hello,
My personal Microsoft account (PII) is currently stuck in a blocked Azure Active Directory tenant, and I am unable to remove myself from it or create a new directory. This is causing authentication failures across Microsoft services.
When I attempt to access Entra or any Azure AD–related portal, I receive the following error:
AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity.
Because the tenant is blocked, I cannot:
Access Entra
Leave the organization
Delete the directory
Create a new directory
Use the “unlink work or school account” tools
Access the Organizations page
Access Azure portal
Access Microsoft Defender for Individuals
All self‑service identity repair tools redirect or fail because the tenant is inactive and inaccessible.
I need the blocked Azure AD tenant associated with my personal Microsoft account to be unblocked or deleted, or I need my personal account removed from that tenant.
This is preventing me from signing into Microsoft Defender for Individuals and other services that require a clean personal Microsoft account identity.
Please escalate this to the Account & Directory Recovery Team or the Azure AD backend team, as this requires tenant‑level intervention.
Thank you.
