Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

May I please know when was the last time you were able to successfully sign in to your Microsoft account (old email)?

According to the Microsoft Account Activity Policy, you should sign in at least once every two years to keep your account active. If you haven’t signed in with your Microsoft account for more than two years, your account may be placed in an inactive state and could be closed.

If your email address is recognized, but you forgot your password and no longer have the security information, you will first need to update your security info by selecting “I don’t have any of these” on the Verify your identity screen, and then follow the steps to replace your security information.

Note: If you remove all of your previous security information and replace it with new details, your account will be placed in a restricted state for 30 days.

If you cannot access your old email because you've forgotten the password and have changed the phone number associated with it, you can try the following steps:

    1. Use Security Information: If you have set up security information for your account, you may be able to reset your password using that information. Check if you can access your account recovery options through the security settings.
    2. Contact Support: If you are unable to reset your password through the usual methods, you may need to contact Microsoft support for assistance. You can find the appropriate contact information for your region at Support for Business Products.
    3. Account Recovery: If you have access to the email account recovery options, try to recover your account by following the prompts on the Microsoft account recovery page. You may need to provide information to verify your identity.
    4. Create a New Account: If all else fails and you cannot recover your old email, you may need to create a new account using a new email address.

Make sure to keep your recovery information updated in the future to avoid similar issues.
