I would like to map a network drive without being required to put in the password. Is there a way to disable this setting so this pop up doesn't show up? see video: https://www.loom.com/share/ca4a7c4c53e749889b6a27566d5e4b37

    Hello !

You cannot disable authentication for a Windows network drive. You can ask Windows to remember your credentials so you will not be asked for them again, but disabling authentication prompts is not possible.
What are you trying to achieve ? If you want to enable anonymous login, you'll need to enable it in the Group Policy editor.

Please let me know if you have any other question !

To map a network drive without being prompted for a password, you can ensure that the credentials are saved. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Use the "Connect using different credentials" option when mapping the drive. This allows you to enter the username and password once, and you can check the option to remember these credentials.
    2. Use Group Policy Preferences to map the drive. This can be set up to use specific credentials without prompting the user each time.
    3. Check User Account Control (UAC) settings. If UAC is configured to prompt for credentials, it may cause the password prompt to appear. You might want to adjust these settings if appropriate for your environment.
    4. Enable Linked Connections: If you are using Windows with User Account Control (UAC), ensure that the EnableLinkedConnections registry entry is configured. This allows mapped drives to be accessible in both standard and elevated sessions.

If you are still facing issues, consider checking the network policies or permissions that might be affecting access to the mapped drive.
