Use Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to break the Automatic Repair loop and repair or reset the system.
- Enter Windows Recovery Environment (if you are not already there)
- Turn the PC on and wait for the Windows or manufacturer logo.
- As soon as it appears, press and hold the power button until the device turns off.
- Repeat this power‑on then forced‑off sequence twice.
- On the third start, Windows should show Automatic Repair → select Advanced options.
- Try Startup Repair
- In WinRE, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
- Choose your account and enter the password if prompted.
- Let Startup Repair run and allow any restarts it performs.
- If Windows starts successfully afterward, immediately install the latest Windows updates and device/firmware updates to help prevent future problems.
- Use System Restore (if available)
- In WinRE, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.
- Follow the on‑screen instructions to restore the PC to an earlier restore point from before the problem started.
- After a successful start, install all current Windows and device updates.
- Reset this PC (if repair and restore do not work)
- In WinRE, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
- Choose one of:
- Keep my files – reinstalls Windows, removes apps and settings, keeps personal files.
- Remove everything – removes all personal files, apps, and settings.
- Follow the prompts to complete the reset.
- After Windows starts, reinstall apps and apply all updates.
- If reset also fails or the loop continues
- The system may have deeper corruption or hardware issues. At that point, use vendor or in‑person service options for hardware inspection and full system recovery.
