Printer and login issues

Hi,

I've been having an issue with my microsoft printer driver giving an error that it cannot find the file I'm attempting to print despite it being saved on my desktop under various filenames including "file.pdf" to avoid possible filename/invalid character issues. I wasn't able to find an answer on the microsoft support site, so I attempted to sign in to contact support. After signing in, I was still not signed in and could not contact support, as I was being prompted to sign in in order to contact support for assistance with my inability to sign in. I attempted to sign in multiple times to support.microsoft.com only to be repeatedly not actually singed in and referred to sign in to be able to contact support for further assistance with my inability to sign in.

What version of Linux would work best for a new user?

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Accounts, profiles, and login

    Welcome Kizlan -,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating it can be when you are experiencing two issues: printing errors where the Microsoft printer driver cannot find a PDF file saved on your desktop, and a sign‑in loop on support.microsoft.com that prevents you from contacting Microsoft Support.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm:

    • Whether the printer is a physical printer or Microsoft Print to PDF, and if the issue happens with all applications or only specific ones.

In the meantime, you can try the steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Restart the Print Spooler service.

    • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
    • Locate Print Spooler, right‑click it, and select Restart

Option 2: Test printing from a different location.

    • Move the PDF file from Desktop to Documents
    • Try printing the file again to check if the issue is path‑related

Option 3: Run the Windows printer troubleshooter.

    • Open Settings
    • Go to System, then Troubleshoot, then Other troubleshooters
    • Run the Printer troubleshooter

Option 4: Sign out and clear browser data before signing in again.

    • Sign out from support.microsoft.com
    • Clear browser cache and cookies
    • Open a new browser window and sign in again with the same Microsoft account

Option 5: Try a different browser or a private browsing window to rule out session issues.

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.
