My computer has Windows Hello Camera but for some reason its not being regiestered.

Hi! Based on the message shown, Windows is not detecting a Windows Hello–compatible infrared (IR) camera. Please first go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera and confirm camera access is enabled, then run Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Camera.

After that, open Device Manager, expand Cameras and Biometric devices, and update or uninstall/reinstall the camera driver, then restart the PC.

If the issue started recently, also check Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates and install any camera, chipset, or firmware updates available, because those can restore Windows Hello functionality after a driver change.

Sorry, I totally missed that this was Windows 10, since this is Windows 10, the path should be adjusted from the Windows 11-style menus: first go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and make sure camera access is enabled, then go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Camera and run that troubleshooter if it is available on your build.

After that, please open Device Manager and check under Cameras and Biometric devices to see whether the IR / Windows Hello camera appears there. If it does, try Update driver first; if that does not help, uninstall the affected camera or biometric device and restart the PC so Windows can reinstall it.

Then check Windows Update, including any optional driver or firmware updates, because missing or changed camera drivers after an update are one of the common reasons the camera stops working in Windows. Once the IR camera is detected again, return to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and set up Facial recognition (Windows Hello) again.
