I gifted a Minecraft deluxe edition to a friend in another region earlier today, not knowing the restrictions on region, and now I can't refund it. They have not shared the code or used it. I have tried all methods I know to refund it and none have worked. Please help.

    Hello,

My name is Pavel Poddubny, and I will be happy to assist you! ✨

The recipient can give the code to someone else to redeem. Or, they can ask you to return the item for a refund. The recipient can’t return or exchange the gift code.

To return the item for a refund, go to your order history page, find the item, and select Refund information.

    Order history

Important You must request a refund for an unredeemed code within 14 days of making the purchase. If the code has been redeemed, we’re unable to process a refund, even if it’s within 14 days of purchase. For more info, visit:

For a gifted Minecraft code that cannot be redeemed due to region restrictions, the only supported path is to request a refund through the Microsoft Store/Xbox refund process and then, if needed, contact support if the online options do not appear.

    Use these steps:

    1. Go to the Xbox refund page for digital games: Request a refund for digital games and sign in with the account that purchased the Minecraft gift.
    2. Select the Minecraft Deluxe Edition gift purchase and choose Request a refund.
    3. Provide the reason (for example, gifted to a friend in another region, code unused) and select Next, then Submit.
    4. Refund requests can take up to 72 hours to process. Status updates are provided on the Refund status tab.

If the purchase does not appear as eligible or the Request a refund option is missing:

    1. Check the Order history page for the purchasing account: Open Order history. Confirm the order is listed and note its status.
    2. If there is still no way to request a refund online, contact Microsoft Sales support directly as instructed in the refund articles: use contact Sales support and explain that this is a gifted Minecraft code, unused and blocked by region.

Refunds, when approved, are generally processed within 3–5 business days and are applied to the original payment option.
