A PC equipped with advanced AI capabilities and Windows Copilot integration
Hi Dillon Sanford,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand how disruptive it can be when Copilot closes unexpectedly, especially while you’re in the middle of typing or sending a prompt.
In addition to Q&A Assist's answer, here are some recommended steps that you can try to restore Copilot:
1, Run the Copilot connectivity troubleshooter
- Open the Get Help app in Windows
- Search for Copilot connectivity troubleshooter
- Run it and follow the on-screen guidance
2, Reset the Copilot app
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps
- Select Copilot > Advanced options
- Choose Repair first
- If the issue continues, return and select Reset
3, Install all Windows updates
- Open Settings > Windows Update
- Select Check for updates
- Install all available updates and restart the device
4, Use Copilot in the browser as a temporary workaround
- Open Microsoft Edge
- Go to Microsoft Copilot Chat (web)
- Sign in with the same account and test sending prompts
I appreciate you taking the time to work through these steps. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
