Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I would like to report several issues I am experiencing with Windows on my PC.

First, my computer has significant lag and slow performance. When I start the PC, it takes a long time to boot. Applications also take too much time to open, and sometimes the system becomes slow or unresponsive while switching between apps.

Second, the Dynamic Lock feature is not working properly. It does not automatically lock my PC when my paired device moves away.

I am also facing connectivity issues where the connection disconnects unexpectedly, which interrupts my work.
I hope Microsoft can investigate these problems and improve system performance, reliability, and feature functionality in future updates.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you for reaching out, Iram Muajhid.

I understand how frustrating it can be when performance, security features, and connectivity issues all affect your daily work experience. Before getting further, I need to clarify that Microsoft Q&A is just a user-to-user support forum, limited to providing guidance on technical issues.

Moderators, contributors, including external Microsoft staff, cannot trigger Microsoft investigations or feature changes directly, if that's what you're looking for. Given these limitations, the most appropriate avenue for your requests is the official Microsoft feedback channels (press Win + F.)

In the meantime, there are a few practical checks you can try on your PC to see if they can improve the situation!

1 - You can start by addressing overall system performance:

    • Make sure the system drive has sufficient free space (ideally at least 15–20%)
    • Open Settings > Windows Update and ensure all updates are fully installed
    • Disable non‑essential startup items:
      • Right-click Taskbar > Open Task Manager > Startup tab
      • Right-click any entries with High impact or / and not used
      • Choose to Disable them > Restart your PC to check.
    • Disable startup delay via the Registry:
      • Press Win + R > type regedit > press Enter to open the Registry Editor
      • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
      • Right‑click the Explorer key > select New > Key, and name it Serialize
      • Inside it, create two new DWORD (32‑bit) Values
      • Name them WaitForIdleState and StartupDelayInMSec
      • Set both values to 0 > save the changes and restart PC.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, first check out How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

2 - For Dynamic Lock not locking automatically:

    • Disable any device power‑saving option:
      • Press Win + X > open Device Manager > expand Bluetooth
      • Select your device adapter > right-click and open Properties
      • Check if there's power-saving > turn it off > Save and test again.
    • Keep in mind Dynamic Lock sometimes does not lock instantly and may take time to trigger
    • Ensure your phone stays continuously connected via Bluetooth. Since you mentioned connectivity issues, this might relate.

3 - The unexpected connectivity disconnects:

    • Open Device Manager again > expand Networks adapters
      • Right-click and update your network adapter drivers automatically.
      • Or visit the PC manufacturer website and download the latest network driver package.
      • In the network adapter’s Power Management tab, disable power‑saving options (as instructed in #2 above).
    • If possible, test with a wired connection to determine whether the issue is specific to Wi‑Fi

If you wish to continue troubleshooting, sharing your Windows version and whether the issue occurs on Wi‑Fi or Ethernet would help narrow this down further!
